The Dos and Don'ts of Arthritis Pain

Is there a definitive way of dealing with arthritis pain? Moreover, is there a way of getting rid of the soreness overnight? The answer to these questions are no. No matter what form it may come in, arthritis is a disease that will really take a toll on your being. It will change your life no matter how much you avoid it. To deal with arthritis pain, you must first identify the dos and don’ts.

Firstly, do find the time to rest, but don’t stay still in one position for a long period of time. When you have joint pains, you will easily be exhausted. Resting is important in this case, but you still have to move from time to time. Adjusting your position, tilting your neck, bending your arms and legs, and taking brisk walks are necessary to bring back the circulation of blood into the joints.

Secondly, do exercise regularly, but don’t overexert yourself. High-impact exercises tend to cause more harm than good. Instead, do light exercises that have short repetitions and are less likely to cause any strain on the affected area. Also, it might be better if you perform your workouts at night for lesser soreness in the morning.

Thirdly, do eat right and don’t indulge in any vices. Arthritis will definitely change your lifestyle, to a point that you will have to go on a diet. There will be a lot of things to avoid, especially alcohol intake, which is proven to have severe effects on bone and joint health.

And lastly, do get help and don’t deal with the pain on your own. Your doctor is still the best consultant when it comes to your condition. When the pain worsens, get it checked. Never mind the costs; you may be looking at more costs in the end if you don’t get immediate medical attention.
